All Experience levels welcome! The class will be fun for kids who have never acted before and for kids with lots of stage time. Good acting is good acting, whether it is on the screen or in front of a live audience. So we will spend plenty of time working on essential acting skills: fearless communication and technical discipline. We will work on skits that we will shoot on video– covering the basics of performing for the camera. Although this is primarily an acting class, students will help with production as well– holding the boom mic and helping with reflectors and diffusers– learning the keys to simple film making. At the end of the class we will screen our dailies and see how we did!
Instructors, Shelley Latham and Kenton Jakub, have worked with area kids in theatre (Guys & Dolls, The 3 Little Pigs A Wolf & A Chicken) and film (3 Little Pigs, A Movie For Our African Friends and The Bike Movie, and The Pie Movie, in post-production).
